Halloween Special - Recipe - Chocolate spiders

Chocolate spiders
Get the kids to help you make these fun, tasty chocolate spiders. Making them is a treat in itself; eating them is even better!
What you need:
• 300 g of biscuits (ideally, a dark coloured biscuit made with cocoa powder)
• 100 g of cream cheese (e.g. Philadelphia)
• 2 tablespoons of apricot jam
• 2 tablespoons of Nutella
• liquorice wheels
• chocolate chips
• sugar confetti sprinkles
• black cake-decorating pen
• white lollipop sticks
How to make it:
Whizz the biscuits into fine crumbs in a food processor then transfer them to a bowl and stir in the cream cheese, Nutella and jam. Mix thoroughly, starting with a spoon, then using your hands.
Make little balls from the mixture (these will be the spiders’ bodies) and roll them in the chocolate chips. Finish the spiders using pieces of liquorice for the legs and two sugar confetti sprinkles for eyes, drawing in the pupils with the cake decorating pen. If you like, you can push a lollipop stick into each spider to make them easier to pick up.
