Halloween Special - The games
The “fearometer” challenges
I have prepared some games to play with your kids and their friends that will make your Halloween party extra spooky, and extra fun! Enjoy!
The Treasure of the Hairy Monster
Find a box and make a hole in it big enough for a child to put their hand through. Put a marble inside the box along with a number of objects with different (and disgusting!) textures and consistencies. Make sure to include a hairy monster (you could use a stuffed toy).
The object of the game is to find the marble without the hairy monster eating your hand!
The Kiss of the Spider
Get hold of the scariest, most convincing rubber spider you can find and hang it from a nylon thread long enough for you to hold and move up and down to get the spider to jump and jiggle.
To play the game, children have to summon up the courage to kiss the spider while someone jiggles it up and down to scare them.
The Halloween Mummy
For this game you need lots of rolls of toilet paper. Divide the children into groups of three. They are to chose one member of the group and wrap them up like a mummy using the toilet rolls (leaving the face uncovered).
The team that does the best job within the time limit is the winner.
The Path of Fear
This game takes a bit of time and effort to prepare, but thrills and chills are guaranteed! Decorate a darkened room with fake spider webs, pumpkin lanterns, ghosts made out of sheets and anything else you can dream up, making a path that the children can follow.
Add some suitably spooky music and invite the children to make their way along the path and find the way out.
